Evolution Tri-Societies (ASN, SSB, SSE)

The Evolution conference is an annual joint meeting of three societies: the Society for the Study of Evolution, the Society of Systematic Biologists, and the American Society of Naturalists. It is the premier annual conference in the field of evolutionary biology. The 1,200 expected participants contribute to symposia presentations, paper presentations, and poster sessions. Product and service providers provide exhibits, and related activities include opening and poster receptions, a picnic, and a banquet.

The three societies of the Evolution conference are committed to increasing the involvement of women and minority scientists in the field of evolutionary biology. For this reason, we have partnered with MentorNet to provide an e-mail based support system for early-career evolutionary biologists. The MentorNet program will be offered in conjunction with subsidized child-care as well as an annual luncheon symposium at our annual conference. The luncheon will address topics of concern to early career evolutionary biologists, including mentoring, work-life balance, and dual-career challenges.

We encourage all of our members to sign up to participate in the MentorNet program as either a mentor or protege.

    What Others are Saying

"E-mentors are perfectly suited to help students work through [career] decisions and to explore issues of work-life balance; issues which are coming to the forefront for women in their mid-late 20s (or beyond), who are just about to enter the workforce." - MentorNet Mentor
