College and University Partnership Opportunities
Fee Levels
All campuses that accept the invitation to participate in MentorNet will be invoiced for a modest annual fee for services. The levels are based on the total FTE (full-time equivalent) student population of the campus (including undergraduate, graduate and professional program students in all fields/schools/majors). *Community colleges are charged a flat annual fee of $1000 . Fees do not cover the entire cost of the program and are subsidized by MentorNet's corporate, foundation, professional society and government sponsors. To manage MentorNet's growth in order to offer a program of high quality, only students, postdocs, and early career faculty registered with colleges and universities that have been invited to participate in MentorNet may currently do so at this time.

A report published by the NSF* states that 44 percent of all recent science and engineering bachelors and masters degree graduates attended community college at some point in their lives. Furthermore, women, people of color, and economically-disadvantaged students are more likely to start their higher education in two-year colleges. In light of this, the MentorNet Advisory Board determined that each individual community college, regardless of FTE, should be charged a flat fee of $1000 effective January 2004. It is hoped that such a change in the fee structure will lead to greater numbers of two-year institutions and members of target populations participating in MentorNet.
