Help MentorNet Match 500 Pairs

The Drive for 500 is on track to meeting its goal of matching 500 new mentor-protégé pairs by the end of February. You can help us make it over the top by recommending MentorNet to your friends who would be good mentors or would be interested in having one. If you recommend MentorNet to a friend/colleague, you will be entered in a weekly drawing to win a MentorNet t-shirt! All new and returning protégés who sign up for one of our One-on-One E-Mentoring programs by February 28 receive a 10 percent discount on all Virgin Electronics products.

Student Leadership Corps Going Strong

There's still time to join the MentorNet Student Leadership Corps. SLC gives past and current protégés at our participating campuses the opportunity to gain valuable skills and help spread the word about MentorNet--and help us reach our goal of matching 500 mentor-protégé pairs by--February 28. All active participants will be rewarded, and the top five participants will get Boomtube portable speakers from Virgin Electronics!

Many mentors in computer science and computer engineering are available for matching --so if you're a student in these areas, take advantage of the wealth and sign up to be matched. MentorNet's Hard Drive campaign has recruited scores of new protégés through direct outreach to student organizations, but many motivated mentors are from IBM, Symantec, SAP, Apple, and Microsoft and other computer-related companies are ready to help you!

Get Writing! MentorNet's Second Annual Essay Contest Deadline Nears

The deadline for submissions for MentorNet's Second Annual Essay Contest is coming up soon-March 7. Winning contestants in these categories will win prize packages donated by 3M Corporation, and the grand prize winner will receive a 40GB iPod donated by Apple, which holds 10,000 songs.
