MentorNet News Bits & Bytes

Symantec, Three New Campuses Join MentorNet

MentorNet welcomes its newcomers: Symantec, a global information security corporation based in Cupertino, California, is our newest sustaining corporate partner. College of DuPage, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and EPF Ecole d'Ingénieurs in Sceaux, France are our newest campuses. We're also pleased to note that 3M, the Naval Research Laboratory, and SAP have renewed at the sustaining level. Renewing campuses are North Carolina State University, Princeton University, Stanford University, and De Anza College.

Ohio Student Wins iPAQ

Ariane Petersen, a senior at Ohio Northern University majoring in civil engineering, has won an iPAQ pocket computer donated by HP. She received the prize in MentorNet’s quarterly drawing among students who filled out and submitted their evaluation surveys.

Students: if your mentor relationship is ending or has ended, please complete your survey! You’ll be entered in our next contest.

Colorado Protégé Scores a T-Shirt

Maya Kimizuka, a junior in metallurgy and materials engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, won a MentorNet T-shirt in our latest drawing for newly signed-up protégés. Our next drawing prize for protégés who sign up or renew by November 15 is a fashionable MentorNet sweatshirt. And any MentorNet Community member who recommends MentorNet to a friend will also be entered to win. Click here to do it now.

Internships, Scholarships Available

The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) offers a number of scholarships and internships for undergraduates and graduates in engineering. Internship opportunities include stints with Engineers Without Borders, DuPont, and the National Research Council. It’s not too soon to think about next summer! More information is at http://www.nspe.org/students/home.asp. The NSPE is a MentorNet Professional Society partner.
