Program Bits and Bytes

Mentor-Protégé Essay Contest Winners

Four essays, by Rebecca Sawchuk/Dana Gary, Cynthia Gilley/Katharine Horst, Celesta White, and Brenda Liu, were chosen from among 44 outstanding entries as grand prize winners of MentorNet’s Mentor-Protégé Essay Contest. The winning writers get a free trip to New Mexico for the WEPAN (Women in Engineering Programs and Advocates Network) Conference in June (see below). Evelyn Hsia, a MentorNet volunteer from Cisco Systems, coordinated the contest. Winning essays and names of the runners-up are posted at www.mentornet.net/documents/about/experiences/Contest/

MentorNet Presents at June WEPAN Conference

MentorNet will present a half day of sessions on mentoring at the annual WEPAN (Women in Engineering Programs & Advocates Network) Conference June 6–9 in Albuquerque, NM. Two are panels: “Building the MentorNet Partnership to Provide Mentoring on a Large Scale” and “What Good is Mentoring? Mentors and Protégés Having Their Say”; a partner representatives roundtable led by MentorNet President and CEO Carol Muller ends the series.
