The University of Wisconsin - La Crosse is located in, not surprisingly, La Crosse, Wisconsin. La Crosse, population 52,000, is in the beautiful Mississippi River valley nestled between the River and a ridge of majestic bluffs.
UW-L enrolls over 8500 students. The average ACT of incoming freshmen is 24.7. We offer 85 undergraduate majors in 44 disciplines. 82% of full-time faculty hold a doctorate or other terminal degree; the student/faculty ratio is 22:1 and the average class size is 28 students.
UW-L has rigorous and highly respected science, math, and computer science programs. We have dual degree engineering arrangements with 4 area Engineering schools so that students can begin at UW-L, transfer to an engineering program, and then transfer credits back to UW-L to complete the degree.
