Sarah Saltzer is the General Manager of Business Services in Chevron’s Environmental Management Company (EMC), a position she has held since February 2009. EMC provides liability management and technical solutions on soil and groundwater contamination and facility decommissioning for Chevron Corporation. EMC has a staff of 200 employees and manages a contract staff of 1800 with a yearly budget of approximately $800MM. In this position, she is responsible for Strategy, Planning, Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Public Affairs, Developing People and Processes, and Administration.

A native of Massachusetts, Sarah received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986. After selling her Master’s thesis software to Mobil Oil and working as a geologist she received her Ph.D. in Geology from Stanford University in 1992. She joined Chevron in La Habra, CA in 1992 as a structural geologist. Since then she has worked in roles of increasing responsibility in Exploration and Development Geology, Petroleum Engineering, and Chevron’s Corporate Strategic Planning group.
