Program Bits and Bytes

'Success Through Mentoring' Workshop in September

Hear from researchers and other experts in mentoring and obtain an in-depth understanding of how MentorNet's programs work at "Success Through Mentoring," a daylong workshop that will be held September 29 in conjunction with the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science National Conference. Register by August 1 for significant savings. For details, go to www.mentornet.net/workshops/sacnas.aspx. The program is supported by the National Science Foundation and Texas Instruments.

New Corporate and Campus Partners

This month we're pleased to welcome quite a few new partners. Our most recent corporate partners are GE Global Research, Knight Ridder, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. And our new campus partners are Cornell University, Saint Louis University, and University of Wisconsin campuses at Stevens Point and Whitewater.

We also welcome back returning campus partners: Boise State University; Boston University; Dartmouth College; Kansas State University; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Michigan State University; Milwaukee School of Engineering; Muskingum College; Olin College of Engineering; Pennsylvania State University; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Santa Clara University; University of California, San Francisco; University of North Carolina, Charlotte; University of Vermont; and the University of Wyoming.

MentorNet is Year-Round

MentorNet now operates on a year-round basis, so undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and early-career faculty may choose mentors at any time. Sign up, log in, and create a protégé profile.

Mentors: Update Your Profile

If you want to be a mentor for the 2005–06 academic year, please take a few minutes to check your profile and update it if needed. Just log in to make updates. If you're new to MentorNet, you can create a mentor profile.

Campuses: Partner for the New Year

If your institution of higher education is not yet a MentorNet partner, now is a good time to register - it allows any interested student to sign up for our One-on-One programs and other services during the next 12 months. See www.MentorNet.net/campuses for information and online registration.
